Spent only? Blah.
And removed from the game? So much for working well with Clerics.
They were really afraid of him being overpowered, weren't they?

I'll likely still use him somewhere, though...

That's a lot of nerfing in one character... Was he really that powerful before?

Yeah, when you could use ciane 4-5 times in a turn it kinda hurt a bit :(

it seems a little overcosted now. Since you can't recur him why restrict it to spent characters? It could've been balanced with one or the other but both kinda kills his strength.

So that PI doesn't make the same mistake when they start bringing in recursion. You know it's only a matter of time :D

By the way, who chose Ciane instead of Tybast? ;P

Especially since he's RFG immediately after the strike resolves. It would have been better to have left out the Spent Characters Only clause since recursion is pretty much a non-starter once he uses his React.

tbh im glad they nerfed him so much. When the winner chose that card i thought 'ah hell, elves are about to get a really powerful charactor back :nonono: ' But this way hes alright, not as good as before but not a coaster and thats what 4E is all about (its about things bieng balanced and not bieng like epic :D )

Much as I'm not keen on Elves the way the React has been turned from "Wound" to "RFG" restricting it to Spent Characters seems overkill.

I guess you're right, they could've made it against any and not just spent, but im still glad to see something maybe a bit underpowered instead of something drastically overpowered

Ciane is now exactly as he should always have been. It's an absurdly powerful ability for a 1st level character, people. It's a +6 for two wounds that can be used the turn you draw it. C'mon, now. :nonono:

Try not to think of the character in context of what it was and think instead of what it is. It is a level 1 fighter that can throw out a +6 melee strike for 2 wounds vs. a spent character. That's strong in any context. Ignore recursion, ignore clerics, ignore everything but what the character is and he's still a 3x auto-include in most (if not all) Elf decks.

Get with the program, people. 4E is supposed to be about balance, not fanboi desire.

I disagree, 4E is about Balance AND Fanboi desire....hence the whole Gnome thing.
