Well with the way the gaming industry is heading, that would only have prolonged the inevitable. The future seems to be all about out of the box card games you don't NEED to expand or collect, and digital card games where you don't have to carry and store your stuff.

I agree with this too, digital definitely seems the way to go, they have a lot of the same Design related overhead, but save tons of money on the actual printing and distribution of cards, and even office/warehouse space. The money saved goes towards programming and bandwidth.
