Post Dhamir
when i first saw this warlord, i knew i was looking at my return to the devs. this warlord is everything i wanted in a fighter wizard. so i had to build him ASAP with what we know of the set so far. of course i'll be making changes when new stuff presents itself, but this is the deck so far.

Dhamir il Maliq
Caleb the Shifter (gotta keep the Squire's alive)
Sir Treguard (see caleb)
Squire Arrigan x3 (how to immediatly bring the pain)

Characters: 23 counting start
Aureliane x2 (i only have 2, and she works as both a target, and a healer)
Okull the Defiant x3 (wow this character is good, deserves deck slots in most decks)
Green Hag x3 (sometimes that little bit of debuff is all you need)
Nu'man il Maliq x3 (the new justinian)
Mother Deiane x2 (so good)
The Sable Knight (auto-include in all dev decks, even in some non-dev decks)
Ghed Nuri x3 (still usable, he's kept me alive against nothrogs and dwarves)

Items: 12
Bracers of Deflection x3 (not just for Dhamir, green hag and Okull like it as well)
Bruntor's Helm x2 (i tested the mask, and the DC14 just didnt cut it)
Havat-lahn Stance x2 (the extra strike Dhamir NEEDS)
Darkwood Staff x2 (mainly for shuffling viper whip or lightning bolt back in)
Ring of Vorn x3 (what fighter wizard doesn't like a little bit of movement)

Actions: 17
Ball Lightning x2 (why not)
Incinerate x3 (usually used for the order, but the spend order is used sometimes)
Lightning Bolt x3 (the other kill card)
Icy Surge x3 (only used for the order)
Disintegrate x3 (just cause some items are too dangerous)
Viper Whip x3 (MVP. this decks bears soul and then some, just way too good in this deck)

this deck runs kinda like a build that keeps striking. i keep Dhamir in the back until i am certain he will be safe in the front. the combination of viper whip and lightning bolt is way too good, it just cant be ignored.

i built this deck and tested it before i knew about all his melee strikes ignoring planar, so i was using the spells to target the planar and having his melee strikes target the non-planar. now that he jsut flat out ignores planar, that just speeds him up. i cant wait to get everything from the next set and fully seeing what the dev characters have in store for Dhamir.

thanks in advance for all the constructive criticism 8)

I think the deck will suffer greatly against decks fielding characters with staying power. You have zero means of generating more than 1 wound per strike (unless you could lightning bolt), which is going to make your life hard vs. Dwarves, Devs, and Freeks, and, to a lesser extent, Nothrog. Deck, as it currently sits, has some really good matchups, but also has some really BAD matchups.

I think, also, that Elves are a huge problem for you, especially Kilkameth, or Morghen. Kil will generate board control much more efficiently than you will be able to try and reclaim it, and Morghen will simply blitz your pants off.

Drasek will very likely obliterate this deck, as his crowd-control makes very short work of flimsy support, and you won't have much opportunity to hit his 2nd rank once Fylgia takes root.

Again, it's not a bad concept, but it suffers from all "me" warlord drawbacks. It's a one-trick pony, and the trick doesn't hold a lot of water against much of the field, right now.

For my money: I expect most people who build this Warlord will build him in a similar fashion, but the far more powerful build with this Warlord is cavalry.
