Post Meat Hangover
this is not really news to those select few that atttended KublaCon, but for the rest of you, let this serve as a warning.

Meat Hangover can happen.

Saturday Night, after the main event and Ancients, 10 of us took a trip a couple exits down the road to Brazilian Churisaria (completely misspelled). For those of you that have never experienced this form of dinning, I highly suggest making it happen. Post Haste. How it works is that people keep bringing spits of meat out of the kitchen and asking if you want some. Top Round (with garlic), filet, flank steak, chicken legs, bacon wrapped chicken breast, sausages, Parmesan crusted Pork, lamb, beef ribs, pork loin, shrimp, chicken hearts, and probably a cut or three that I forgot.

the trick is, know when to say when.

My hollow leg was in full effect, and I am a complete Yes Man when faced with the grilled bounty. The only things that I turned down were the Shrimp (they had shells, and that takes work) and the grilled pinapple (I'm really not a fruit guy). With a smile on my face with each bite, I was a bit of a joke at the table, eatting nearly everything that tried to walk past me (and chicken hearts are yummy). And, in a nod to the silliness of last year's Fogo de Chao at GenCon, we did do dessert, and mine was called the Peanut Butter Thing (seriously, how could I turn down such glorious poetry?)

Feeling fine and dandy, we all called it a night, after our attempt at eliminating a few species.

I did not sleep well, but I kept it together. Until the next morning.
Then came the headache, the nausea, and the vomiting. Oh, tasty meat parts, why did you seek escape from my gullet?

Luckily, Mike (Maxus) was on hand to attend to the Double tournament, and I slept off the meat hangover. Having never drank alcohol, let alone achieved a real hangover, I can only approximate that it would have felt like that.

Don't let this happen to you, feast responsibly.

We call that "Food poisoning" ... can occur from consuming undercooked meat, or eating at a dirty Rodizio place... you seems to be guilt of such

This place was NOT a dirty rodizio. It was top-of-the line; I really doubt that quality or cooking had anything to do with Carter's issues. Now MY meat vomiting after the Korean BBQ the next night...that, I would believe came from bad meat.

Same Korean place we went to when I flew out for Madrona Landing? Yea, that place made me destroy Don's bathroom multiple times that night... I shoulda known better when I saw the "Grade B" flyer from the health inspector on the front door... It's very hard not to get an "A"

No, we were up in NorCal for KublaCon...same idea but the raw meat is on a buffet and you grab it yourself. Very tasty, but did bad things to me.

I may have been smart. I was feeling about well enough to join in the Korean BBQ, but saw the folly in the back-to-back all-you-can-eat madness.

Lost 5 lbs over the weekend. Including the meat stack I devoured Saturday.

I think that when you eat the heart of the chicken you get the spirit of the chicken, and all those chickens were not happy with their new accomodations.

I missed Kubla, but still got in on the vomiting on Friday. Too much alcohol and a greasy (but oh so delicious) bacon cheesburger from Hodad's do not mix.

Apparently one of my co-workers is in the Hodad's family. Some of them were down in SD on training and got a free meal.

Nice. I'd go there more often, but ever since they were featured on Food Network it's always hella busy. Damn you, Guy Fieri!

I've been going there since the mid-90's, long before anyone outside of SD heard of it.

Based on the thread title, I had an entirely different idea as to what the topic was going to be.
