Skorne's plastic titans and plastic battle box looks awesome.

They do! I'm gonna get a Sentry and hopefully be able to magnetize it into Tiberion.

Well looks like the Gladiator, Sentry and Gladiator are all one kit with different heads and different arms. Should be pretty easy. Also dig the more upright pose.

Magnetizing the tusks might be an option as well. Make them removable so you can actually get into base contact with other models.

Re: [Hordes/Warmachine] The Elephant in the Room
That's right! But seriously, that's a good idea. Sometimes the artistic elements of the models in TT games really get in the way of functionality. My friend plays Tyranids and the Everblight, both of which are constantly running, stretching out their arms, and sprouting spiky [Censor: poo] EVERYWHERE. It's almost impossible to really place them where you want in most games. Magnetizing is a good idea.

Thankfully PP gives you a defined height per base. So you can step up the cork or whatever to get them up and above the point where contact occurs.

Re: [Hordes/Warmachine] The Elephant in the Room
except that almost everything I see is on cork, so you will have to double up on the cork and then he will be the tallest elephant in the land! i based and magnetized my myrmidons so that they can be any of the 3 heavy jack types...then i dropped out of the league i was in cus they went to 50 pt games ^^ also i just don't know how to beat hordes. they are faster, hit harder and the warlocks are harder to kill. I hit a warlock for 26 damage and he just shunted it to a beast. The only thing they don't have is range, but that doesn't matter when their charge range is longer than my gun range. (still vexed with the game, especially skorne...whom are red and punchy, just like khorne)

Re: [Hordes/Warmachine] The Elephant in the Room
Warlocks in general have better protection from singular large attacks because, as you said, they can shunt high amounts of damage for a relatively low cost. Warcasters, in contrast, have better protection against amassed smaller attacks because of their ability to camp Focus to boost their ARM. In dealing with Warlocks, I feel you almost always have to deal with their beasts first for this reason. They also become substantially weaker when you kill of their beasts, whereas Warcasters don't have such a drawback.

Re: [Hordes/Warmachine] The Elephant in the Room
well, warcasters can't camp focus against my army o.o Which i know my army is kinda specialized agaisnt jacks. But killing a bronzeback or the named cyclops is much easier said than done, at least for me. i did order some stuff, but it got stuck with a back order or soemthing so i probably wont get it before the league is over next week =(

Re: [Hordes/Warmachine] The Elephant in the Room
Assassinating a Warlock takes a much different strategy than assassinating a Warcaster. Generally vs a Warcaster you want a single big shot. Vs a Warlock often you want several small shots to be most effective. Unless you have something that automatically causes greivous wounds, at least IMO. You'll want to get rid of their beasts first or the fury on the Warlock to make the assassination run more successful.
I've only faced ret. a couple of times but I found the throng of weaponmaster infantry to be troublesome, unless I got the charge. Although sending a beat back active bronzeback into a full squad of sentinels under blackspot was tremendous fun. I haven't seen many jacks run with Ret. Usually only 1 at 35, maybe 2 at 50. But your best counter to hordes is likely Kill the Beasts and then Kill the Warlock.

Re: [Hordes/Warmachine] The Elephant in the Room
Looking to get back into the game (I haven't played since a little after release) any suggestions for Cryx, right now I have the Original Starter Box and Goreshade, the Bastard. Can I still play with these or do I need to buy updated Figs?

Re: [Hordes/Warmachine] The Elephant in the Room
I'm 99% sure all of the old figures are still totally fine/legal to play with. I do know that Cryx are considered the "strong" faction at the moment, but I can't really go much into details because I don't play with/against them at all locally. Sorry
