 The Chosen Signature Characters
I would like each respondant to tell me which characters they feel are signature to this faction.
I would like you to list 2-3 Warlords and 5-7 non-Warlords that you feel properly showcase this faction. And then in a sentance or two, tell me why.
These characters can be from any set all the way from Saga of the Storm to City of Gold.

 Re: The Chosen Signature Characters
Galam-reth, Atiratu, Nin-gula.
Warlords for the chosen are trickier they're either going to be 'me me me' exploiters, killing fodder to bring daemons in the world, or facilitating the 'we here for you' exploiters. To me Nin-gula was one of the most thematic of the warlords for them perpetuating the propaganda while boosting the upper crust and it was felt even in her mechanics. Boosting thralls or boosting daemons.
Redu Bir, Redu Tam, The Seed, Master Nax, The Devoted, Pagaphoros, Getraxos
The thralls sacrifice with abilities to show plentiful and devoted to the cause as fodder or champions of for their gods but still fodder all the same. Nax gains a clear bonus for using his thralls that makes their sacrifice worth it instead of half ass and same with the daemons but these two are quick, big and scary for to me the daemons should be the meanest thing in the deck second only to the warlord or better if higher level.

 Re: The Chosen Signature Characters
Warlords:
Atirartu: Daemon summoner from a daeomin summoning faction.
Nin-Gula Culling the weaks to empower the strongs
Sanga-Kish: Killing my own to kill you faster
Non-warlords:
Redu-tam: the chosen decks started to be appealing only after R-T was printed
The seed: You need thralls, lots of them usually, at least you can use this one more than once.
Master naxxagoras: I'm big, but if i eat someone i'm even bigger
Phagophoros: If you are willing to feed him enough he can be very blitzy, else it's still a good meatwall.
Getraxos: When i think about summoning big and fearsome daemons i think of getraxos.
The earth: More thralls please
Wailing scrabler: Pose an interesting choice between a great 2nd level starter or a 2nd level thrall

 Re: The Chosen Signature Characters
Atiratu, Galem-Reth, Naram-sin
Atiratu, the obvious summoner, sacrifices the slaves to summon forth demons of massive power
Galem-reth, the general, with a demon heavy army he charges forth, fallen demons providing enchanced power to their ravenous comrades
Naram-sin, the raging hungerer in warlord mode. My personal saying with him is "He's always eating someone" first he feasts on the bodies of his own slave forces before turning into a force of destruction and OMNOMNOMing some serious enemy ranks playwise he isnt the best chosen by far, but i love the idea of him so ill play him anytime.
Redu-tam,the devoted, wailing scrambler, the seed, pagophorous, getraxos, bivrexe. (sometimes plentifull)
redu-tam, whats better than sacrificing someone so that they get stronger...
the-devoted, only real rank stability the chosen have
wailing scrambler, much needed multiwounding
the seed, obvoius snack for demons with the munchies
pagophorous, great in blitzy decks, the 3Hp planar is meaty if noting else
getraxos, the only reliable heavy hitter, has auto multi-wounding and uuber attack. he cant miss. but like all demons suffers from magic attacks
bivrexe, built in bull rush? works awesome in blitzing.
the plentifull, fits well with the sacrificial theme, a lot of unplayed chosen cards do well with that high level thrall.

 Re: The Chosen Signature Characters
Out of all the factions, the Chosen are the only faction to be true to their faction focus... because they are only present in 4e. They are still too young to determine whether a warlord deviates from the focus of the faction because I'm not sure its really been defined yet. I think it would be easier to point out the early anomalies in the chosen faction rather than point out the "signature" Chosen characters. Of course, we can sit here and debate the good cards from the bad cards, but I'm not sure if that is the purpose of Malexin's exercise.

 Re: The Chosen Signature Characters
Actually meant to post this sooner, but when I was 90% done with it I had a small crash and lost everything. Anyway!
Warlords - Sanga-kish - Atiratu is a solid wizard, but in terms of 'signature characters', the blood magi fits my idea a lot more, I really dig that his ability triggers off killing thralls *or* injury to himself. I'd really like to see more 'wound boosting' in the Chosen.
Naram Sin - thematically I kinda prefer Naram over Gula. But they both do something I'd like to see expanded on. Thrall 'support'. They both don't do *much*, but I'd kind of like to see warlords that use Thralls as just more than sacrifice fodder.
Galam-Reth - Great demon support and a good face hitter.
Characters Aimonos - Huge, scary, eats faces, and thralls as a summoning sacrifice. Shulgi - A thrall that reacts to simply being killed, as opposed to being sacrificed. I think Chosen could do with a few more of these. Lilith - A thrall that is treated like an actual character in design with the thrall trait. Shalta - Reacts off seeing others eaten. Amand D'llchant - Demon support! Master Kelkrys - See Sanga Kish Master Tir-Koltis - See Naram Sin
S'about it.

 Re: The Chosen Signature Characters
Warlords: Naram-Sin, then pick one or two from Sanga-Kish, Atiratu, or Galem-Reth
Naram-Sin, IMO, captures the spirit of The Chosen the best. He's a very vanilla warlord, essentially a dual class cleric and fighter, but done in a way that isn't so bland. His ability promotes his "me" side. His class and static bonus promotes the "we" side of things. This represents thrall/master bond perfectly. I think his only flaw is that there is nothing else you can do with his charges besides "beastmode."
Nin-Gula is the only chosen warlord that doesn't fit. She feels more like a bunch of cool abilities, traits, etc, were just tacked onto her to compensate for the woes that Naram-Sin had to endure. While the other chosen warlords sometimes leave me feeling that I'm playing with a "purple version of xxxx" they have a better interaction of the thrall/master/daemon bond than Nin-Gula.
Non-Warlord Characters: The Devoted, Duanna, Shonta, Earth, Redu Tam, The Seed, Master Naxagoras, Pagophoros, Ygrassyne, As'sa, Getraxos
Ok so that's a little more than 7 and I have plenty of others that could get honorable mentions.
The Devoted and Duanna are the perfect example of basic slaves. Always at the ready to serve and seemingly in endless supply. Shonta is great example of a thrall on the rise that makes other thralls bigger to serve their master better and provides some utility of her own. Earth for low level resuable sacrifice, a very choseny thing to do. Redu Tam is probably the lynchpin of the the whole faction. A thrall that turns into a daemon and has has great sacrifice utility, what more could you ask for. The Seed is another great example of a vanilla sacrifice target to generate the bigger effects from the masters, daemons, and Warlords. Master Naxagoras is great representation of a Master. He can do a lot of stuff and is tied to a thrall sacrifce to get bigger. Pagophoros is a great example of a how much you want to invest in a sacrifce. The more you kill the bigger impact he makes. Ygrassyne is a little new, and dual faction, but, I think she is a perfect example of a high level master. Her abilities make all your thrall sacrifices better. She can turn people into thralls, and even though the stormwraith side of her is Dev flavor, the magic resistance boost is helpful for daemons. As'sa is a probably the best daemon under level 5. The react to turn your opponent's characters into thralls is great mechanically and flavorwise. Getraxos is the perfect daemon beatstick. He hits hard, get's forward through thrall sacrifice, and is difficult to stop.
I could do more and go into a lot more detail, but, I'm already well beyond the limit of what was asked for.

 Re: The Chosen Signature Characters
Kassia the Saint - I think that Sanga is great.... Although the ability once per turn is too limited. In this case, be able to kill your entire army would be more like appealing here. Haveling Tansiq. Same reasons, imagine the boost being to all his stats? No Thralls just me, when I'm ready, not before. Byaal Kadapati. DEAMONS we need Deamons. Bishop Ambros. Pile of Dead Thralls??? Ok here we go. Prioress Sophique. Because our thralls must be killed by us nobody else.
