I think AEG will sit on warlord for a year or so and then re-release it as a "new" game.

AEG hasn't developed a successful CCG since....well since Warlord. Warlord has not been successful since the Campaign arc. AEG has had its greatest success in years developing non-collectible games.

I'm more concerned with this talking bird than some silly cardboard. 2012 man, 2012...

I thought Spycraft was a good game.

As for 7th Sea, I've heard this game could have still been around today if AEG didn't fudge up its marketing of said game.

7th Sea was successful...but predates Warlord by a few years and ended shortly after Warlord began. (my original comment was that AEG hasn't developed a successful CCG since Warlord.)

I would not call City of Heroes, Initial D or Spycraft successful by any stretch of the imagination. Sure they were more successful than Humaliens...

In case there was any confusion, that was sarcasm. Initial D was aegs take on the anime ccg craze, but why they would pick an anime with no english dub, and therefore no buyer awareness is beyond me. They bought the rights to CoH way too late for that game to have a chance. Spycraft was just a poor game. Not to mention im pretty sure not a single bounty hunter knew how to explain that game correctly.

When Arne first announced that Warlord 4E was going to be "customizeable " vs "collectibe" I thought he was moving toward the LCG concept...and if he did Warlord would be in a much better place.

But now? The brand is a 2x loser and the damage is beyond repair short of a total reboot (ie old cards are no longer legal); and I honestly don't think AEG has what it takes to do it justice.

I sensed your sarcasm...but I suspected nilonka was serious about 7th Sea. And to be fair he was correct but his timeline was off.

Yeah, 7th Sea was actually reasonably successful, there was just the whole "Kill a faction" thing, and some other problems.
